Citizen of the Year

Cypress County, in cooperation with the Cypress Courier newspaper, accepts nominations each year to recognize a deserving resident of the County for contributions to their community.  In selecting each years winner, County Council considers community service, volunteering, and significant contributions to quality of life improvements in the area.

Financial Assistance

Students entering Post Secondary Education are encouraged to apply by September 1st for a $1,000 Cypress County Technical Scholarship from council or a $1000 Agricultural Bursary from the Agricultural Service Board!

Reading

County Residents are encouraged to use the services of the Shortgrass Library System.  This regional library is at your fingertips, with access to thousands of books in libraries across Alberta, plus databases, paperbacks by mail, training courses, etc.  Video conferencing sessions through the RISE Network and other electronic services are expanding daily.  Membership is free!

Cypress County Community Advisory Committee (C.A.C.)

The C.A.C. is a group of local citizens who report to the RCMP the concerns of their communities. The goal of the C.A.C. is to assist the RCMP in the prevention and detection of crimes in our vast rural areas.
