PROPOSED TRI-AREA INTERMUNICIPAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN

The Intermunicipal Development Plan is intended to provide Cypress County, the City of Medicine Hat, and the Town of Redcliff with a regional framework for attracting economic opportunities and managing land use, subdivision and development within the Tri-Area Intermunicipal Development Plan boundaries within Cypress County. In addition, the three municipalities want to improve opportunities to secure a robust and durable economic base, improve consistency in land development and enhance inter-municipal efficiency and communication.

A steering committee made up of political and administrative representatives from the County, the City, and the Town have been working diligently over the past couple of years with input from the public to prepare this document. In accordance with Sections 631 and 638 of the Municipal Government Act, Revised Statutes of Alberta 2000, Chapter M-26, the Tri-Area Intermunicipal Development Plan must be passed by bylaw by all three municipalities to come into effect.
