The Public Works department looks after the construction and maintenance of Roads and Parks that are within the County.

Alberta Transportation is responsible for all provincial (numbered) highways.  County residents may have a significant interest in the Highway 1 & 3 Long Range Functional Planning Study and various options for a future freeway around Medicine Hat.  The design of a future interchange at Seven Persons is also being discussed.

Cypress County's Public Works department provides us with safe, reliable potable water and ensures that sewage systems operate efficiently and effectively.

The Public Works department looks after the operation and maintenance of 8 solid-waste transfer sites.
