Desert Blume -The water continues to be safe and the requirement to conserve water remains in place. The new backflow prevention valve arrived from Ontario and was installed on Friday. The line was flushed and super-chlorinated, then fully pressurized over the weekend. Today, flushing of the line for two hours into the sanitary sewer system will be followed by bacteriological sample collection. Thursday, water is expected to begin flowing into the water plant after confirmation from AB Health Services that the water meets safe drinking water standards. Until then, the County will continue to haul potable water to the reservoir as needed.
