There are numerous parks and recreation areas within Cypress County, offering a wide variety of recreational activities.  Learn a little more about some of these Cypress fun spots in our Tourism section.

A big part of Cypress County's recreation is organizing residents' participation in the Southern Alberta Summer Games (SASG).  Click here to go to the SASG homepage.

The County Recreation Board provides annual grants to community groups who operate recreational or cultural facilities in the County that are open to the public.  These facilities include community halls, parks, playgrounds, rodeo grounds, curling rinks, arenas & libraries.  The Board is also actively involved in supporting the development of minor sports, athletes and the staging of Special Events through the Athlete Development Fund.  Financial assistance may be available to individuals or groups who attain provincial, national or international recognition.  A Special Event, such as a fair exhibition, demonstration or cultural celebration, may also be eligible for funding if it accentuates the spirit of our community.  After reviewing the policy, an  application can be downloaded, filled out, signed and sent back to the County Assistant Manager, requesting support.
