Fire Ban
Effective: 0900hrs, July 28, 2026
In accordance with Cypress County Bylaw 2025/07 and conditions throughout southeastern Alberta, Cypress County is enacting a fire ban.
1. A Fire Ban is being implemented (including fireworks) within the boundaries of Cypress County. All fire permits have been cancelled.
2. Recreational Fire Pits are exempt during fire bans when the bylaw conditions are met within the defined hamlets of Cypress County.
3. A person who wilfully sets an open fire, or any fire not allowed under this order, may be charged under the Forest and Prairie Protection Act and Cypress County Bylaw 2025/07. If the person is the owner or occupant of the land on which the fire is set, those costs may be recovered by placing the costs on the tax roll and recovering them in the same manner as taxes.
